I’m a problem solver and have always had an interest in how things work, this trait has evolved immensely throughout the past three years whilst studying engineering product design at Middlesex University. My personal highlight of this course was during the second year when I won the UK Eurobot competition in 2007. As well as obtaining electrical attributes, I have also broadened my software skills by becoming familiar with design packages such as, AutoCAD, Solidworks, 3DsMAX , Photoshop and illustrator.

Paolo's Exhibition Information.

Educational psychologically and social play are the two driving forces behind my current project, important factors derive from momentous research with particular focus upon Vygotsky’s and Kolb’s learning theories, which has heavily influenced my project.

Vigorous user testing has been my focus and has moulded my product and will continue to do so until both designer and consumer have agreed upon a happy medium.

Letting children dictate product evolution has consequently created the mat ‘a’ matics game currently undertaken. Mat ‘a’ matics provides a fun interactive game exploiting social, auditory, visual and kinaesthetic means to teach KS1 curricular maths. Primarily designed for use within schools, user testing has revealed its appropriateness for homes and small parties as well as nurseries and Primary schools.
